Hiking with buggy in Olang – Valdaora
When out and about with the buggy, prepare yourselves with food and good equipage for hikes and excursions. This hike is going to be fun, it is feasible and full of discoveries.
Easy hike with buggy and relaxed hikers
Start at the Apartment-Hotel Winklwiese. Take the trail behind the hotel towards the playground in the woods. Follow the forest track no. 20 which leads you to the Angerer Alp. Choose the same way on your return.
Hikers without buggy can opt for the round tour. Start from the Wiwi-Land at the Apartment-Hotel Winklwiese and head for the restaurant “Panorama” (1,120 m) about 300 metres away. From there take the narrow road towards the Riedlerhöfe (1,172 m) indicated by trail no. 6A. Continue on the forest track still marked 6A to the Angerer Alp at 1,401 m and enjoy the wonderful panoramic view.
Once arrived at your destination, reward yourselves with a typical South Tyrolese snack (“Brettljause”) and home-made apple strudel. There is a small playground for kids and huge alpine feelings for everyone!
Descend via trail no. 6 which starts from the driveway in direction north-west. Walk under the shadow of the woods down to the meadows of Olang – Valdaora. Your round trip is now complete. Congrats!
The entire hike takes about 1h 45min to 2h, the difference in altitude is about 313 metres.

Magical forest hike to the Brunst Alp
This is the ideal excursion for all trained hikers – a mid-grade tour with wonderful panoramic views of the Dolomites
Starting from the Apartment-Hotel Winklwiese, head for the playground of Olang – Valdaora. Take the trail no. 20 to the meadows “Stocker Wiesen” which also serves as a grill and bonfire area. The track no. 20 also leads to a forest road suitable for mountain bikes and e-bikes. The Brunst Alp is at 1889 m above sea level.
Give yourselves a treat: enjoy the culinary delicacy of the local cuisine in the small, family-friendly alpine cabin. Yummy!
The sunny forest glade of the Brunst Alp offers a stunning view at Mount “Kühwiesenkopf” and Mount “Hochalpenkopf”, two massive mountains symbol of the Dolomites, framing the townscape of Olang – Valdaora.
The difference in altitude of this hike amounts to 806 m with an estimated walking time of 4.5 – 5 hours. You can reach the alp also via the so-called “Fuchssteig”, a steep forest track suitable for the ascent and popular among proficient hikers.
