World cup fright! Every January the world’s best athletes get together at the BMW IBU Biathlon World Cup in Antholz – Anterselva only 20 km from Olang – Valdaora to compete against each other in the individual race, the sprint, pursuit racing, mass start and relay. Thousands of fans cheer on their stars. Be there, too!
A fascinating running-event! The start of the famous Cortina-Dobbiaco Run is only 49 km away from us. From there the run takes you 30 km uphill to the Passo Cimabianche at 1,530 m, down to the Lake Landro, further to the Dobbiaco Lake and finally to the finish in Toblach – Dobbiaco where big cheers welcome the athletes. Of course, there are also competitions for kids and teens.
It’s the most challenging MTB race in South Tyrol. Nevertheless, or perhaps because of that, every year more than 4,000 mountain-bikers, experts and amateurs, participate in the Dolomiti Superbike in Niederdorf – Villabassa.
Over the long or short distance, up and down hundreds and thousands of metres, in-midst the impressive landscape of the Dolomites. This race is truly legendary!
Listen to the cowbells! It is a big event in Olang – Valdaora when the cattle return from the alpine pastures in September. Solemnly decorated with beautiful cowbells, the cows proudly participate in the cortege. Their return is a special occasion for celebration with music and regional specialties right in front of our Apartment-Hotel. Longing for more “Almabtrieb”? The smell of biscuits, mulled wine and regional specialties creates a wonderful Christmas atmosphere.
